Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release ( John F. Barnes method) is a very safe and effective hands-on technique applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Fascia, also called connective tissue, is a tissue system of the body. It surrounds and invades every other tissue and organ of the body including nerves, blood vessels, muscles and bones. It goes from the top of the head to the tip of the toes. Trauma, inflammatory responses and/or surgical procedures create myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures.

Each myofascial release session is performed directly on the skin without oils, creams or machinery. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release of the fascia.

” I suffered hip pain for years. After one session, almost all the pain was gone. I feel 10 years younger I can move again!”

“…the day after Thanksgiving, I pulled out my lower back and was crying in pain…After one session you eliminated the pain (which normally stays for a week), and enabled me to fly the next day pain free. I was also relieved of the pain from a very old injury that I had lived with for many years. I am amazed at the results after just one session of myofascial release and plan to add it to our future sessions.”
