Massage and Energy Work are beneficial for anyone going through cancer treatments: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation. The sessions are helpful before and after treatments.
A study conducted at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center showed that patients who received massage therapy experienced reduced levels of anxiety, pain, fatigue, depression and nausea even two days later.
Sessions last from 60 to 90 minutes depending of the particular needs of the client. Special pillows and other gentle props are used to accommodate all physical problems and limitations. The sessions can be given clothes on, or off. The massage techniques are swedish based. The touch is gentle, relaxing, soothing. The energy work techniques include acupressure, aura work, old shamanic practices that are efficient for pain relief and work on other energy systems.
